Hey guys!

Last week I talked about how eliminating Gluten from your diet can help with detoxing.  This week I want to share with you another important factor in detoxing:: your liver!

Your liver is the filter of your body.  It filters every toxin your body encounters in the air, on your skin, and through your digestion.

These toxins come from pesticides, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, what you put on your skin,  beer, alcohol, wine, and drugs (including medicine!).

The liver is so important to maintain your overall health.  It affects your metabolism, cholesterol levels, weight control, acts as a blood cleanser, destroys toxic chemicals, removes unhealthy cells from the blood, and protects the immune system.

This month we are focusing on DETOX and how this can help us ‘whittle our middle.’

Part of a Good Detox Program can include Eliminating Gluten from your diet.


Gluten has been everywhere in the media recently- in magazines, tv, even Dr. Oz focused a whole show on Gluten!

Although the issue is all around us- most of us don’t even know what Gluten is! Gluten is a Protein found in wheat, barley, and rye.


Shelley Case, who wrote the Gluten Free Diet, stated that 60% of people have this allergy and many of them don’t even realize it.

An important part of detox is eliminating foods we are allergic or sensitive to. We can usually tell this if we are allergic to something if we have frequent bloating, gas, constipation, and diarrhea. There are all signs that digestion is not correctly taking place. ((Remember from my last post: Digestion is the key to detoxing!))

Gluten Products are all around us and usually a convenient and quick item to grab. For breakfast many of us are eating them- Granola, bagels, cereal, toast.


The problem (and why more people are suffering from this) is that most plants these days are hybrids. They are being genetically modified and our bodies aren’t able to digest these foreign substances.

So you might be wondering- what happens with gluten intolerance? Gluten Intolerance can destroy the little hairs in your small intestine. This reduces the surface area where nutrients are absorbed and can cause our bodies to be malnourished.

I’m excited to announce my April ‘Topic of the Month:’


Detox is quite the buzz word these days but how many of us really know what it is and what it does?!I want to introduce to you to my program ‘Detox D-lite.’ I have broken down ‘Detox’ into  four main components:
