Hey guys!

I just got back from an amazing Convention in DC.  I met Mark Kelly (An Astronaut and Gabby Gifford’s husband), Aaron Ralston (Cut off his own arm to survive–127 Hours is about him) and Roger Barnett (Shaklee’s Owner and CEO) and was inspired by each one of them.  I’m pumped up and ready to help people develop their own businesses and incorporate Shaklee into their life.

It’s usually hard for me to stay on track while I’m traveling but luckily I was surround by my friends who are very health eaters!  One’s a Vegetarian and Yoga teacher and the other lives and teaches about being Gluten Free.   I also brought my Shaklee shakes, bars, and supplements to help me if I was getting hungry or so I wouldn’t be tempted to cheat (there are dessert trays all over!)

Here’s my 5 tips on How to Stay Healthy while Traveling!

1) Walk everywhere!  Instead of taking the elevator or escalator take the stairs!  This is such an easy thing to do and will work wonders.  It is important to still get 30 minutes of exercise in every day even while your traveling and walking will do this trick.  ((Another great workout tip is to go dancing!  My friends and I had a great time letting loose and hitting the dance floor.  When your having fun with something you don’t even realize or consider it a work out.  Move those hips ; )   ))

2) Drink Shaklee’s Cinch Shake first thing in the morning.  You might be thinking- ‘I don’t travel with a blender!’  But don’t you worry- it’s still easy to have your delicious shake on the go.  Simple put the powder (it also comes in individual packets) and water in a Tupperwear container with a top and shake! ((Check out my friend Kim Richard Jone’s facebook where she sells great tupperwear!))  This gets your day off to the right start providing your body with the vitamins and nutrients it needs for the coming day.  It also helps with cravings!

3) Drink a lot of Water!  Water helps hydrate your body and keeps you feeling full.  Instead of reaching for snacks- if you have a water bottle with you sip on that.  We are often not hungry just looking for something to put in our mouths.

4) Research Healthy Restaurants before you go.  My friends and I looked up restaurants to go to in DC that had healthy foods.  We were prepared each night and instead of feeling boggled down by unhealthy fast foods we felt great.  (Yelp has a great iphone application that can help you with this!  If you don’t have an iphone you can always go to yelp.com)

5) Limit your Alcohol Consumption.  When you are meeting new people it’s always fun to have a drink but limit it to that!  1 cocktail can have up to 500 calories- imagine having 4 of them?!  That’s your calories for the day.  Many restaurants are making healthier versions so be sure to ask for that (Skinny Girl Margarita anyone?!)  I’m all about having fun but make sure you are aware of what you are consuming.  Drinking a lot also often leads to overeating.

These 5 Tips helped me lose weight but still have a good time at my conference! I felt elevated and ready to take on the world : )

Also at the Conference I learned that Shaklee is giving a reward that’s a reward in itself this year.  If you build and develop your Shaklee business you might be eligible for a trip of a lifetime.  Shaklee is sending their top business leaders to Kenya on a Safari to support childrens education.  Not only do you get to explore and have a good time but you are also sending a child in need to school for a year.  Talk about rewarding!

My ‘Perfect’ Day

Let’s face it. No one in this world is PERFECT! And let’s be honest- do we really even want to be?  How boring.  But I thought it might be fun to write what I think would constitute as My ‘Perfect Day’ eating and exercising wise.

**Note- this is just me having fun with a day–I am NOT advising you have to be perfect to be healthy**

6:15 am- Wake up- Drink 1 cup of luke warm water with juice of 1/2 organic lemon (helps clean out your system and stimulate bowl movements)

6:30 am– 30 Mins Stretch- Get the mind, body, spirit alive and ready for the day ( I like to do some Yoga or Qigong)

7 am– Cinch Shake!  (I look forward to these every day- they are my nutritionally dense milk shakes that are good for me!)  My current favorite flavor is Vanilla.  I usually mix this with a handful or strawberries, 1/2 bananna, 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup water, 3 ice cubes, and blend.

7:30- 9:30 am– Work / Conference Calls

10 am– Work Out  ( I love going to the Local Y and taking (or teaching!) Yoga, Aerobics, Weight classes.

11:30 am- Back to Work helping people learn how to be healthy and business women/men!

(I usually have a Shaklee Energy Tea Drink in Here after my work out)

12:30 pm– Lunch- I usually eat a Large Salad with a delicious assortment of colorful vegetables and a palm size of protein (chicken, salmon, tuna, etc)

And Take my Shaklee Vitamins

1 pm– More Work!  (I love what I do so it doesn’t even seem like work to me)

3:30 pm– Another Cinch Shake or Bar, an apple, and Shaklee Energy Chew (Keeps me fueled for the rest of the day so i don’t get that afternoon slump.)

4 pm– Phone Calls, Client Meetings

6 pm- My husband comes home and we talk about our day while we cook dinner.  Dinner always consists of protein, carb, & fat with unlimited veggies.  I’m really into brown rice stir fry right now!  Simple and healthy.

7pm– Relax & Enjoy time with friends/family

11 pm- Take 20 minutes to myself to meditate before bed

The definition of crazy is ‘Doing the same things and expecting different results.’

Hummm…Why does this quote remind me of my weight loss challenge?!

I have tried many different diet plans before and wondered why I was not losing weight.

Does this sound familiar?!

After much trial and error- I’ve finally developed a program that really works (with a little help from my friends at Shaklee and Brad Lamm!)

  ‘Just 10 Pounds!’

Join this challenge with me by Friday, August 5!

Here’s some FREE tips on how I got started and what I recommend to my clients when they initially take this challenge.

First step:

It is important to realize your current habits.  A lot of us are just going through our days and not really thinking about what we are doing.

Are you eating because you are hungry?  What are you eating?  When are you eating?  How are you feeling when you eat?  How much do you eat?  ( I could keep going!)  But write it all down, connect to it and befriend it.  Don’t judge yourself- realize what you are doing and commit yourself to change.

It is all about your mind-set and changing your current habits.

Second Step:

Figure Out what type of Eater  you are.

This next step is important to do with me.  Together we will look at your journal and take a quiz to help determine what type of eater you are.

– External

Next I will help you create an action list.  We will dissect your current habits and create an eating and exercise plan that will fit into your schedule.

Working with a Nurse, such as myself, helps your health questions get answered AND also helps you be accountable!

Adding Shaklee’s Cinch Program into your daily routine will help with this weight loss.  The Cinch programs helps you get all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs to thrive.  This can help you if you are feeling fatigued, craving sweets, feeling hungry all the time, and are afraid of muscle loss.

Eating the Cinch Bars or drinking the Cinch shake will help these symptoms go away!

The Shaklee Cinch Weight Loss Kit

The KIT includes:

-Cinch Shakes

-Shaklee’s three in one boost (blood sugar balancer, increases metabolism)

-Cinch snack bars (10)

– Energy tea mix (28 days servings)

We can do it together!
